Fake I phone texting

Today for writing we learning how to write a fake I phone text. What I learnt from the fake I phone text was amazing because the text gets sent and they don't juggle and get mixed around. The learning intention was to place the correct speech bubbles in the right spot and placing the full stop and capital letters in the first sentence.

Poem

The third week of the second term we are learning to write a poem with synonyms. The story had to have a simile and words that rhymed. There were interesting sentences that made the story more great. 

The tunnel

                             

As the morning sun rose through the clear sky, birds chirp peacefully making the world sound sweet.

As more and more birds made such loud noises it echoed through the hollow tunnel repeatedly.

Something caught his eye, “No trespassing or you will regret passing!” Trees had covered the tunnel making

sure nothing had passed through the territory. The clouds gathered

together turning darker and rumbling through the dusky sky. The only choice to make is either to stay
under the trees or go into the tunnel.
It was pitch black, but when he took a break,

he spotted a little bit of light shining through a crack in the tunnel.  

Using a bit of his weight to push against the boulders, he tried to open it up further.

Everything changed. “This is the most beautiful place!” Cameron mumbled to himself.

Today we are writing a story about "the tunnel." I created a document about the tunnel because it was our topic for today. I have learnt about where to add apostrophes when I am writing. Now I know where to add the punctuation and all those other writing things while I am writing. 

Description

The magic Library

A little girl named Scarlet really loved to read. She was a passionate little girl.
She just wanted to read. One time she had went to a library. Scarlet was very nervous.
The librarian had greeted her in a polite way making her feel welcomed.
This library was known to be called the magic library.
She had chosen a book called Dr Seuss. It was a story that was made up.
Scarlet thought that it was very interesting to read a nonfiction book.
She’d always issue books because there were books like comic books and chapter books.
Scarlet liked reading most of the chapter books because it had a lot of difficult words
to read. Even though it was hard she kept reading.

Today we were learning to do a character description. Our topic was about a girl who
loved to read. I have described her feelings, actions, and what she looks like. I really
liked how you had to use your imagination to write the story. It was interesting to find
out what you could use while you are writing. I liked using words that gave hints about
story because it shows that you are giving information about the story and where it is
held at.

Tense

Today we are learning about tense. We were filling in the missing boxes and it had past tense, present tense, and future tense. We were learning about it because these are the most important words include to your writing.

Lost Yet Found

He decides to go into the forest, where he would take some good photos of the nature. As a teenage boy he likes to hike by himself in the forest. Dark clouds rumble through the sky while raindrops fall to the ground. He wasn’t scared at all. He had too much on his mind, he looked at his map and saw he was nowhere near to his hometown.

For this weeks work we made a document about a character description. I had made about a boy that is lost in the forest trying to find his way back to his hometown. I made this document about it because it was our learning intention for today.

Magic

Magic

“Top of the morning”, this happy man said. He was a man who had courage and confidence in himself. He handed out cards for a magic trick. He gave other people pamphlets to people because the pamphlet had something on it.

On the day that the show was going to start. He was a bit nervous but he had no clue that his family was there to support him. Everyone backstage were ready to see what talent he has. A few minutes later he got more confident to go on stage in front of everyone and show off his magic skills. Although he was nervous he saw his family sitting on the seats happy and excited. The first thing that came to mind was, “Is this going to work?’’

As he shows off his talent he made a table float in the air. After the show finished he thanked the audience and also his family who came to support him. The pamphlet said, “What is your magic trick?”

I have created a document about magic. Our learning intention was to have a compound sentence, complex sentence and a simple sentence. I have learnt about how to write a story with the things I listed.

How is Chinese New Year celebrated?

Chinese New Year is a celebration that is open to everyone. There is a street celebration when a dragon dances and Chinese fireworks light the sky. Elders hand out red cards to children and unmarried couples to wish them good luck. The Chinese New Year tradition is to wear red clothing with gold on it. People bring food to other families houses for supper. There is a zodiac cycle which has 12 animals and repeats every 12 years.

When Chinese New Year is celebrated everyone gathers together on the street or in their own home ready for Chinese New Year. The Chinese New Year is celebrated all around the world. It is a special celebration for the Chinese people.

The Chinese people decorate their home or the town for  Chinese New Year. There are 12 selected animals. Every animal on the cycle has got a different meaning and year. This year is the year of the dog.

The Chinese New Year lasts for at least fifteen days, until the new moon ends. The full moon is fifteen days later, this year it will end on the 2nd of March. The Chinese people use fireworks, wear red and make noise to continue the the tradition of keeping the monster away.

The Chinese New Year is a very special celebration when everyone takes part in the festival. Chinese New Year is a very important traditional holiday for the Chinese people as they come together to wish each other Kung Hei Fat Choi!

For this week's learning we did a explanation about Chinese New Year. We learnt about the tradition and how people around the world celebrate it. During the tradition most people wear red. We now know more about the Chinese New Year because of our researching and learning.
